Professor Dr. Fariha Haseen is a leading authority in reproductive health, gender equity, and adolescent well-being in Bangladesh. She serves as Professor and Head of the Division of Reproductive and Child Health, and Director of the Centre for Gender and Women’s Health Research at the Department of Public Health and Informatics of Bangladesh Medical University (BMU). Her teaching includes research ethics, gender, sexual and reproductive health (SRH), adolescent health (AH), and social medicine and behavioral sciences. Research portfolio spans gender-responsive health system and leadership, artificial intelligence, ASRH, child marriage in climate-vulnerable contexts, cervical cancer prevention, and HPV vaccine. She has secured competitive grants and published extensively in national and international forums. Her policy leadership includes co-authoring the Adolescent-Friendly Health Services Training Manual (DGFP, MOHFW, 2019), National Menstrual Hygiene Management Strategy (2018–2020), and National Adolescent Health Strategy 2017–2030. Professor Haseen is a member of the Institutional Review Board of BMU and JPGSPH of BRAC University, IGCS, IPVS, and Avoidable Death Network (ADN), Bangladesh Bioethics Society. She served in the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG) of Bangladesh. She is widely recognized for mentoring emerging public health scholars and practitioners. Her career reflects an enduring commitment to equity-driven, evidence-based health innovation.
