Volunteer's mission: crafting a brighter future

K. Thanat Veeravattanatikul (Em) graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Mahidol University International College (MUIC) in 2014. Then, he went to the University of Kent where he graduated with a Master’s Degree in International Human Rights Laws. For over 8 years, he has had a career in the field of human rights and humanitarian in many international organizations such as the International Organization for Migration (IOM), International Rescue Committee (IRC), and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). He has been working continuously to develop communities in the northern province especially marginalized people such as ethnic minority groups, migrants, and refugees. Currently, K. Thanat is working with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Apart from his career, Thanat also founded a volunteer group called “Arsa Sangsan” which is a volunteer group exclusively for MUIC students. The primary purposes of this volunteer group are to conduct knowledge activities for hill tribe children, and also to build essential infrastructure such as water and solar system in the most remote hill tribe villages in Thailand.
