Assoc Prof. Dr. Jakkris was predominantly involved with drafting and drove to pass the Promotion for Scientific and Technological Professions Act, B.E.2551, which was the turning point for the development of science and technology in Thailand. He was assigned to develop the professional qualification standard majoring in environmental impact assessment and pollution control, one in four professions enacted in this act. As a foremost lecturer and environmental specialist, he has shared his knowledge and experiences for his entire life through teaching, conducting research, and giving consultations to many universities and organizations to promote a sustainable environment and health, evidenced by 46 academic books, 51 research projects and many nationally and internationally recognized committee members such as the expert committee to review environmental impact assessment reports, the National Environmental Board, and Sub-committee Chairman on the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants: POPs.
