Health policy and Market Access Pharmacist

K. Pien Ploenbannakit is interested in health policy and access to medicines. He currently holds the position of Market Access Manager at a leading pharmaceutical company. In the pharmaceutical profession, he served as a board member of the Pharmaceutical Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage for 2 terms (2016-2021) and a member of the Board of Directors of the Marketing Pharmacy Association of Thailand (MPAT) until now.

K. Pien drives and coordinates with the drug company's headquarters in Germany and government agencies to bring Tiotropium bromide and Tenecteplase onto the National List of Essential Medicines. This makes patients with chronic lung disease (COPD and STEMI) from all types of health insurance a better quality of life through the right to medical access and helps the Government of Thailand to sustainably manage related budgets with the private sector.
Moreover, K. Pien was awarded a UK Government Scholarship (Chevening Scholarship), one of the most competitive scholarships in the world, with only 3 percent of applicants being selected. As a result, Pien pursued a master's degree in Health Policy, Planning, and Financing at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), University of London, and graduated in 2022.
