Dr. Suphakit is an executive in public health administration who creates valuable innovations for the healthcare system in Thailand through various projects, including 1) The Tak Malaria Initiative in the remote malarious northwestern border area of Thailand, the early detection of malaria by trained village volunteers, using rapid diagnostic tests and treatment with mefloquine-artesunate was feasible and reduced the morbidity and mortality of multidrug-resistant P. falciparum. This initiative is also a prototype for expanding the results to other areas. 2) Development of Migrant Health Volunteers for the quality of life of foreign workers in many areas. 3) Create and drive continuous important strategies for Thailand, such as the national NCDs strategic plan, the national health strategy development plan, etc. 4) Research and development of long-term care in Japan to change institutional-based care to community-based care. 5) Work for Thailand's fight against COVID-19 situation such as vaccine procurement, vaccine production, and variants and genomic surveillance for COVID-19. As a result of using his knowledge and ability to perform his work with determination, patience, sacrifice, and dedication to society, Dr. Suphakit has received many honorary awards from both government agencies and Mahidol University, including MDCU The Medical Icons Awards from Chulalongkorn University in 2023.
