Dr. Mirinda's outstanding works are R&D project research which using the mother tongue and local wisdom of ethnic groups to development their literacy's children both in their mother tongue and Thai. There are three main research projects to improve their learning, literacy, and language skills of ethnic and migrant children. (1) The Mother tongue-based Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE) for Patani Malay children in Thailand's Deep South and Urak Lawoi (sea gypsy) children in Lanta Island, Krabi. (2) Teaching Thai as a second Language (TSL) for migrant children in Mae Sot and Ranong border areas. (3) Intercultural Education (ICE) for all children groups included Thai, Muslims, Chinese, and Urak Lawoi in Lanta Island. These research projects have produced more than 1,500 mother tongue and Thai language learning materials and innovations. There are 63 schools in the network and more than 270 teachers have been developed teaching capabilities, including more than 5,800 students.
