An advocate for healthier food policy :
Dr. Weerapak graduated from the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University. His thesis's topic "An Analysis of the Implementation of Policies for the Elimination of Industrially-Produced Trans Fatty Acids in Thailand: Content, Context, Process, and Actors" won the Distinguished Thesis Award for fiscal year 2023. He is a researcher with outstanding work in public policy, nutrition, and population health. He also served as a policy advisor on consumer affairs, economics, and human rights. Currently, Dr. Weerapak is pushing forward healthy street food policies in Thailand through the development of policy recommendations on World Class Street Food with support from WHO-CCS NCDs and the Department of Disease Control, as well as conducting "Planning and Implementing a Standard Practice in Street Food Production and Service Provision in Thailand: A Feasibility Study" with support from the Thai Health Promotion Foundation.
