Combating transnational drug-trafficking networks :
Dr. Wichai has been instrumental in promoting and driving the prevention, suppression, and resolution of drug problems, as well as enforcing the Narcotics Code and related laws. He has pushed for public health laws and related legislation, leading to the enactment of the Narcotics Code in 2021. He has driven the investigation, expansion, and arrest of major drug traffickers, as well as the seizure and forfeiture of their assets to disrupt the drug trade cycle. He has also promoted the establishment of the International College of Drug Prevention and Suppression under the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB). He has advocated for the Village Health Volunteer Act and coordinated international cooperation in drug investigation, expansion, and arrest cases between the ONCB, Customs Department, National Security Center, Royal Thai Police, and the Foreign Narcotics and Crime Coordination Committee in Thailand. This collaboration aims to coordinate intelligence and investigations, set TSOC crime targets, and gather evidence to combat transnational criminal organizations involved in drug trafficking and money laundering. His efforts have led to the interception of drug smuggling and the expansion of investigations to destination countries in several cases.
