Prof. Dr.Waranun is an expert in the research of pharmaceutical components for treating oral lesions. She has developed oral medications that adhere well to oral tissues, exhibit appropriate action, and effectively treat diseases. Her research encompasses various aspects in laboratory settings and clinical applications, resulting in the creation of formulations for patient use. Additionally, she has investigated and developed health-promoting products using extracts from Zanthoxylum limonella, a herb not traditionally included in classic medicinal formulas. These products have properties that inhibit oral pathogens and reduce the occurrence of infectious lesions in oral tissues. She also develops an innovative online application for simulating real-life scenarios to enhance diagnostic and treatment planning skills for dentists and dental students. Furthermore, Prof. Dr.Waranun has successfully incorporated herbal products into the cosmetic registration system, leading to the approval of toothpaste and mouthwash products containing Zanthoxylum limonella by the Thai FDA in 2018. This achievement not only leverages local herbal resources but also facilitates commercial opportunities.
