Dedicated educator & pioneer leader in ASEAN ITS:
Lt.Col.Dr.Tongkarn is an alumnus of the Faculty of Engineering at Mahidol University, recognized as a dedicated teacher and developer of intelligent transportation and traffic systems in ASEAN whose contributions have made a substantial impact on society. Serving as Chair of the Transportation and Logistics Working Group for the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations (AFEO) and President of ITS Thailand, he plays a pivotal role in advancing smart mobility solutions. His influence extends internationally as a key member of the Executive Committees for the ITS World Congress and ITS Asia-Pacific. He also advocates for engineering standards, including Building Information Modeling (BIM) and professional standards within the Engineering Institute of Thailand under H.M. the King's Patronage. In recognition of his exceptional commitment, he was honored with the 2024 “AFEO Honorary Member Award” from AFEO, symbolizing his dedication to advancing engineering for the betterment of society and the nation.
