Leader in the nursing profession development:
Associate Professor Dr. Saengthong is a leader in the development of the nursing profession and embodies the spirit of a true educator, wholeheartedly sharing her extensive knowledge of nursing. She has also worked closely with the Thailand Nursing and Midwifery Council to advance the nursing profession, particularly in promoting Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) in the field of Community Health Nursing. She has contributed to the development and dissemination of interdisciplinary knowledge, including nursing and midwifery law, primary care, and rational drug use—knowledge that greatly benefits both the nursing profession and the public. She has also played a key role in developing both undergraduate and graduate curricula in Community Health Nursing, as well as the certificate-level Advanced Practice Nurse training program at the Ramathibodi School of Nursing, which was the first institution in Thailand to offer such a program. She continues to serve as the program chair to this day. One of her most recent and proudest achievements is serving as an advisor to experts in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing skill training for youth representatives during public holidays in preparation for the “WorldSkills Lyon 2024” competition in the Health and Social Care category. Her guidance helped develop nursing competencies that meet high standards, are effective, and respect patient rights. As a result, the Thai representative, Ms. Ariyaporn Limkamontip, won the Gold Medal and the Best of Nation Award in Lyon, France.
