Noppawan
Piaseu
Health promotion network builder

Health promotion network builder :

Prof. Dr. Noppawan has utilized her capabilities to lead health promotion efforts by building networks and expanding initiatives across Mahidol University, government and private organizations, and communities. She has co-developed a community engagement model for collaborative health promotion, which serves as a framework for diverse community health care. This model has empowered communities to become self-reliant and fostered partnerships in normal and crises. This model is also a strategic foundation for the Rama Happy Farm Learning Center, which collaborates with surrounding community networks to enhance the potential of the elderly and people with disabilities. Together with the Faculty of Agriculture at Kasetsart University, they co-produce and process food products, which are then delivered to the Nutrition Department for patient meals and sold at affordable prices to staff, service users, and the general public. She has played a key role in driving the health promotion work of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, leading to continuous recognition as a healthy organization. Notable awards include: the Princess Health Award 2022, bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Healthy Organization Award 2021 from the Thai Health Promotion Foundation and the Royal College of Physicians of Thailand. Healthy Organization Award 2022–2023 in the categories of operational process, health leadership team, and innovation. She has also developed a volunteer team of students and staff from the Health Promotion and Wellness Center and Ramathibodi School of Nursing to support communities during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Initiatives include: Smoke-free model communities, Long COVID care communities, and Systematic literature reviews leading to innovations in screening and managing sarcopenia (muscle loss). She has also co-developed training curricula for Thai and migrant caregivers of the elderly in collaboration with the Institute of Language and Culture for Rural Development and the Institute for Population and Social Research, at Mahidol University. These curricula are being submitted for professional qualification recognition in the field of personal health services and elderly care. Her ongoing community engagement includes spearheading the 2019 National Health Assembly resolution on “Uniting Communities Against Cancer,” promoting proactive cancer screening and end-of-life care. She proposed a family leave policy for working individuals with terminally ill relatives, in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute, cancer patient networks, and multidisciplinary teams. This proposal is currently being prepared by the International Health Policy Program (IHPP) for submission to the National Health Assembly. Her dedication to public service has earned her widespread community recognition, including A commendation plaque from the Sheikhul Islam Office in 2020 for contributions to religion and society. Outstanding Organizational Leader Award from the Thai Health Promotion Foundation in 2022. Three Arrows Plaque from Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University. Outstanding Alumni Award for Social Service from the Ramathibodi Nursing Alumni Association in 2023.
