Dr. Muhammed Ashraful Alam is a highly accomplished hospital administrator and research coordinator at the largest public hospital in Bangladesh, a 2,600-bed facility. His leadership was particularly evident during the COVID-19 crisis, where he served as the hospital's focal person, managing 700-800 admitted COVID-19 cases daily. He is recognized internationally for his initiatives to address preventive issues and promote behavioral changes that reduce the disease burden through community participation in low- and middle-income countries. He supervises research works at home and abroad. He is to conduct several management and academic training for capacity building for health staff. He has published more than 25 peer-reviewed papers in national and international-level journals. He worked in Africa under the United Nations (UN) as a senior medical officer and got the UN Medal for successful completion. He got research grants from USAID, the Ministry of Health, the Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC), and the WHO. He still working as a research coordinator in a WHO-funded drug trial regarding the prevention of neonatal deaths in premature delivery. He got training in Japan, and China and also visited WHO headquarters at Geneva to share our research findings.
