Pioneer in antimalarial drugs by Thai herbs :
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuchard is an expert in the mechanisms of malaria pathogenesis and the study of antimalarial activity both in vitro and in animal models. His work emphasizes the creation of new knowledge alongside the discovery of medicinal plants, traditional formulations, and pure compounds with high potential for safe antimalarial activity. He also investigates molecular docking simulations of plant extract compounds and develops new antimalarial formulations as alternative medicines. He has published 108 articles in international journals indexed in Scopus, with an H-index of 20 and a total of 1,362 citations (as of June 26, 2025). Due to his outstanding research contributions, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuchat has been ranked among the World’s Top 2% Scientists in the field of Tropical Medicine by Stanford University. He has also received several prestigious awards, such as the Outstanding Young Parasitologist Award from the Thai Society of Parasitology and Tropical Medicine, the Outstanding Research Lecturer Award in Health Sciences from Walailak University, and the NRCT Quality Achievement Award (Medical Science category) from the National Research Council of Thailand.
