Architect of the Future Nursing Profession :
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Poolsuk has utilized her expertise to pioneer the Master in Nursing Science (International Program) with a hybrid learning model since 2015. She also initiated three flexible nursing programs in 2019: Double Degree Program between Mahidol University and Daikin University. Dual Degree Program combining a Bachelor of Nursing and a Master’s in Clinical Epidemiology in a six-year track. Nursing Accelerated Program for graduates in other health sciences, allowing them to earn a nursing degree in 2–3 years through credit transfer. Three cohorts have already been launched. She also established Thailand’s first international Double Degree Bachelor of Nursing program between Ramathibodi School of Nursing, Mahidol University, and Kunming University in China, setting a precedent for international academic collaboration in nursing education. To support Thailand’s role as a medical hub and to develop global nurses, she planned international programs for general students and initiated a Dual Degree Master’s and Doctoral Program between Mahidol University and Case Western Reserve University. This program addresses the shortage of nursing faculty and promotes research in bio-data sciences. She encouraged graduates of the Advanced Practice Nursing Certificate Program to apply their knowledge nationwide to improve care for complex patients. Her leadership was instrumental in Ramathibodi School of Nursing receiving ACEN accreditation (2022–2028)—making it one of the first two institutions in Thailand to achieve this. In research, she has supported international publications and external research funding, significantly increasing the school’s global research output. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she led initiatives that became national models, including: Establishing Community Isolation Centers for green-coded COVID-19 patients at Chaophraya Commercial Technology College, integrating community and hospital resources to address hospital bed shortages. Appearing on national TV to highlight the frontline role of nurses. Launching the “Thread Warriors” training program, the first and only course in Thailand to empower volunteers caring for COVID-19 patients, reduce stigma, and align with the UN SDGs. Creating a COVID-19 Call Center from the first outbreak onward. Securing a 9-million-baht grant from the Ministry of Digital Economy to develop a LINE Official Account and chatbot for 24/7 public health communication, with nursing faculty available daily from 4–8 PM. Establishing a Mental Health Hotline staffed by psychiatric nursing faculty. Leading a team of nursing faculty to appear on Thai PBS’s live COVID-19 education program for three months. Her initiatives have empowered nursing faculty to engage in public health at scale, adapt communication strategies using social media, and serve as a model for other nursing institutions. Under her leadership, the school has demonstrated exceptional agility in crisis response.
